Beginning Stages

We’re Adopting

The beginning is the part that no one really talks about. The part that you keep quiet, stay hush-hush, and grind to get all the “BTS” stuff done. IE: paperwork, paperwork, background checks, adoption books photoshoots, homestudy, and more paperwork ETC.

We decided to work with a consulting company that one of my photography clients and friends have adopted their littlest from. Faithful Adoption Consultants. WHY a consulting company and not an agency you may ask?….Well, b/c a consulting company has access to several dozen agencies across the United States. Giving us and our family a wider reach to those in need of finding the right fit and family for their unborn baby.

Ya’ll, in 2021…this process is NOT easy. Waiting for documents from the government is taking forever. I don’t think I’ve prayed more for patience than I have in my entire life….and that includes when I had two under the age of two and my husband was gone working out of town most weeks. haha. We got our photos done, most of which you can see currently on our website, we have all of our recommendation letters from friends and family. We have set up all our physicals with the Dr. , our TB tests and our drug tests. (date of early Nov.) We are currently waiting for Tommy’s social security card to come in the mail…and it should be here next week. phew.

Then we can schedule our Home study….and are hoping to go “active” end of December or early January. Being “active” means we can officially be presented to Birth moms and dads. YAY!

We would love prayers right now not only for us during this process, but for God to soften the hearts of the birth parents out there struggling with the decision of adoption or abortion. Pray that these parents feel grace and ease when it comes to talking out these tough decisions. Pray that they feel God working in their lives through the agencies and social workers they have reached out to. Pray that whomever God has chosen for us that they are willing and wanting to have an Open adoption and be as much a part of our lives as their baby will be.

Thank you for your prayers and for being here.
