Work. Work. Work.

I don’t know if everyone knows this; but I have a photography business, an online women’s clothing boutique AND in August I went back to the hospital for a 16 week “winter” contract.

I started by taking the assignment because my Husband lost his job, for the 2nd time in a year :(. We needed a steady income and we were unsure if he was going to start his own business or not. God, sure worked his magic and presented Tommy with a wonderful job opportunity.

He started his FIRST day of work, the day I started my FIRST day at the hospital. Let’s just say….there have been plenty of times that it would have been easier for me to end my contract and just be a “mom” and run my two side businesses. BUTTTT—- we wanted to adopt a baby remember. ;).

And…adoption is EXPENSIVE. I mean EX-PEN-SIVE. So, I decided I would stay at the hospital and finish out my contract. The 16 week contract would pay for about of half the adoption costs. SOOOooo… with LOTS and LOTS of help from my MIL, my mom and my sis we have made it work.

I work night shift and right now our family has graciously volunteered to stay over night, take kids to school, pick kids up from school and run them to all their sporting events while I work or sleep. (Tommy travels mon-fri most weeks right now).

All this to say, my contract is almost up and I am very grateful for a nursing career that affords me the opportunity to go back and make some good money when it’s needed. BUT- I miss my babies, I miss our routine, I miss seeing their games, and I AM SO TIRED.

But, after this week of shifts, I will have officially brought home around $24,000 and it feels good. It feels good to know that, even with our breadwinner being out of work for around 4+months in the last year, we can partially afford to adopt a baby.

We are so so thankful for y’all and your generosity in making this dream become a reality for us. B/c without your prayers and donations we wouldn’t be able to do it without you.
